Indiana University began investing more in football, and more alumni started returning for games. It was the perfect chance for us to capture alumni stories and generate buzz. We invited alumni to our Homecoming Huddle tailgate party and gave them a tour of campus and a ride to the game in a golf cart outfitted with cameras.
I developed the concept, wrote the creative brief, organized talent, and lined up interviews. Alumni marketing staffers Laura Angstmann, J.D. Denny, and Lacy Whitaker picked up the idea and ran with it. They focused the concept, tricked out the cart, and conducted interviews in the golf carts. We worked with Blueline Media Productions to capture and edit the video. Kevin Weaver wove the captured video into four coherent stories.
We used the videos throughout the fall in social media and in newsletters to promote alumni spirit and generate more story sharing.
