Soup Scoop branding goes back for seconds

The Fatsoff Soup Scoop is a specialized kitchen tool designed to quickly and easily skim the fat off broths, soups, stews, and gravies. Manufactured in Bloomington, Ind., the soup scoop is sold exclusively on Amazon.com. Sales had dipped over the years, and the manufacturer wanted to make a new splash.

As brands go, Fatsoff Soup Scoop is fun. If you cook, it’s a fun product to use. And it’s fun to say. (Try saying it three times fast!) The visual brand was updated to be more joyful.

Starting with the existing brand, the wordmark was updated to use a font that was easier to read and felt a little more appetizing.

To the new wordmark, an icon was added. The new icon combines the letters F and S in a way that resembles a ladle, a bowl of soup, and steam marks rising from the soup. The steam marks were separated to create a fun pattern that could be used on packaging or on other promotional materials.

The color palette was expanded to add colors that resemble fresh, healthy foods that one might find on the cutting board while making their favorite recipes.
